A group of Indian River School District students will pause from feeding their creativity to feed the community at a pasta dinner fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 25.
The buffet is eat-in or carryout, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Southern Delaware School of the Arts cafeteria in Selbyville. MAC’s Catering will once again cater the meal, which includes pasta, marinara sauce, meat sauce, salad, bread and drinks. There will also be a “Chinese” auction.
Tickets cost $7 for adults and $5 for children and can be purchased until Tuesday, Feb. 21, by contacting Lisa Forney at (302) 236-4739 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
All proceeds will benefit the district’s Odyssey of the Mind program, which challenges students to think outside of the box in extreme problem-solving challenges.
IRSD teams have fared well in past state competitions, having won more than 35 state championships in 11 years, so there’s a good chance that any proceeds above state competition costs could help send the students to the World Finals in May, where they will again design, write and build unique solutions to complex problems.
