NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN BY the Board of Adjustment of the Town of Ocean View that a public hearing will be held on Application V-249, a request for a variance from Article X, § 999-63 and § 999-65 of the Ocean View Land Use and Development chapter of the Town Code, submitted by Sign Medix, Inc. on behalf of Fulton Financial Corporation. Article X, § 999-63 permits changeable copy signs to be incorporated into a sign face when the changeable component of the sign face occupies less than 50% of the total area of that sign and § 999-65 permits one (1) wall sign with a maximum area of ten (10) square feet and a freestanding sign that must be 10 feet from the front street/property line and 20 feet from any other street/property line.
The applicant seeks a variance that would allow for the installation of two wall signs each of which are 15.5 square feet and a freestanding sign that would have changeable copy area of 72%, would encroach 6 feet into the required front setback and 16 feet into the other required property line setbacks on property located at 60 Atlantic Avenue (063.000) (1-34-12.00-534.00).
The hearing will be held at the Town Hall located at 32 West Avenue at 5:30 p.m. or as soon as possible thereafter on Tuesday, March 13, 2012.
The appropriate material may be examined by interested parties on the second floor of the Wallace A. Melson Municipal Building located at 201 Central Avenue between 8:30 a.m. and noon and 1 through 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
All interested parties are welcome to attend and present their views. If unable to attend the public hearing, written comments will be accepted but must be received prior to the hearing.
