Restaurants help customers to get in ‘The Loop'

There is a multitude of dining options at the beach. So why not try them all?

Four local restaurants are partnering to present The Loop, a night of dining across the area. On Friday, April 27, diners will be able to sample food and drinks at Sedona, Matt’s Fish Camp, DiFebo’s and DiFebo’s Bistro on the Green at Bear Trap Dunes.

Patrons can all begin at any of the locations, enjoy a small plate of food and perhaps a mini-cocktail, then do the same at three other restaurants.

At the end of the night, diners can return for live music at DiFebo’s Bistro on the Green. Participants who get their Loop dining cards stamped at all four locations will receive a free T-shirt and restaurant coupons.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” said Anne Fensterwald of DiFebo’s Bistro, who participated in a similar Wilmington event. “The main focus getting people introduced to the restaurants… and reintroducing us for the next season.”

The April date is intended to encourage locals to enjoy the nightlife before a busy summer season.

“I think some people kind of forget what goes on in Bethany, especially in the winter, but there’s a lot of restaurants that are open,” said Jim Affeldt of Matt’s Fish Camp.

“We want it to be an interactive event,” said Fensterwald, who encouraged patrons to visit each location, engage and socialize throughout the night.

Diners will have much to discuss on the culinary mini-tour. Four small plates can equal a meal, but the dishes themselves will vary and highlight the local menus.

One eatery may offer lobster roll or crab cake with a fruity spritzer, while another features dessert and coffee drinks.

“We’re hoping to get enough response that this becomes an annual thing,” said Affeldt. The restaurateurs hope to learn from this event and expand to include more eateries.

Tickets for The Loop cost $40, which covers all four restaurants. Gratuity for servers is not included. Reservations should be made by Saturday, April 21, to guarantee a T-shirt. For more information or reservations, contact Anne Fensterwald at (302) 537-6100.
