Those attending the Beach to Bay Cottage Tour (or anybody with a taste for homemade California-style chicken salad) can take a break from the annual event and stop by Ocean View Presbyterian Church for lunch on Wednesday, July 25, and Thursday, July 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Diners at the annual Heavenly Lunch — held each year to coincide with the Cottage Tour — can eat-in or take their food out.
The lunch, hosted and prepared by the church’s Sewing Circle, consists of California Chicken Salad and an array of fresh fruit, Caesar salad, pasta salad and rolls. They also have drinks and homemade brownies — all for $12.
The church, located at 67 Central Avenue in Ocean View, has ample parking, and all proceeds will benefit local, national and international missions.
Organizations the local, national and international missions have helped recently include the Alzheimer’s Association, Justin W. Jennings Foundation, Diakonia, the Way Home, People’s Place, Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, Stop Hunger Now, Read Aloud Delaware, Sussex Pregnancy Care Center and the Salvation Army.
Liz Hobler of Ocean View Presbyterian said they would like to thank Eastern Shore Poultry, Ocean View Produce, Giant Foods and Harris Teeter for their donations toward the luncheon.
