The Fat Tuna Grill is gearing up for the 2013 summer season and their new management, Karen Diakos and Ramiro Herrera, is ready to see what summer has in store. The Millville restaurant has been under new management since December, so they have some had time assess the long-running operation and get it ready for the summer season.
Diakos said she wants people to know that they are still there, albeit with some changes.
“The Fat Tuna is still here,” she said. “We are adding to what was there and improving, but we are still here. “ She said some of their additions include new pasta dishes, new seafood dishes and more burgers, sandwiches, desserts and starters.
The kids’ area is still a big draw for families with children who come to eat (and play) at the Tuna, and they have expanded the patio area with more seating. She said they are trying to get different live music acts for the summer weekends and plan to get some new fire pits outside, with lounge seating.
“We are really excited. It’s a lot of work, but it is a lot of the same stuff with some new faces.”
She said all the kitchen staff is the same, so all the dishes and sauces that people might have come to love haven’t changed.
But they plan on adding some “themed” nights, for something different. For example, Monday night is now Mexican night, with Mexican-inspired cuisine in addition to the regular menu, and they plan on having other themed nights in the future.
Diakos said they are anxious and excited for the season to start.
“From what people say, a lot of people come out, and we are looking forward to it. We are going to be here, making sure everything is running smoothly, and will do the best we can to make the customers happy!”
