Super Giant grocery store was evacuated Friday night around 10:10 p.m. after several people reportedly experienced difficulty breathing.
Shoppers and staff were instructed to leave their groceries and immediately exit the Millville store.
Millville Volunteer Fire Company responded with ambulances and fire apparatus, but did not transport anyone for medical reasons, said Mike Long, store manager.
“There were a couple customers in the parking lot with the EMTs, but they were not transported anywhere,” Long said.
The MVFC website listed the incident as an odor investigation. But no official diagnosis was made.
“We don’t have any clue at this time,” said Long. “We are still investigating it.”
The 24-hour Millville grocery store reopened at 4:30 a.m.
“We had a refrigeration tech and a fire tech come in and check the store and everything was fine,” Long said.
