Delaware Department of Transportation
Jennifer Cohan, Secretary
CAPITAL TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM
Notice of Project Modification
The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) has received guidance from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) regarding public participation for capital projects in an area where there is no
Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) such as Sussex County. Thus, DelDOT must inform the public of major changes in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). The Fiscal Years 2017 - 2022 Capital Transportation Program (CTP), serves as DelDOT’s Fiscal Years 2017 - 2020 STIP for Federal-aid purposes.
DelDOT is requesting an amendment to the Fiscal Years 2017 - 2020 (STIP) to add project, Transit Vehicle Expansion (2) 35' Electric Buses SC FY19.
This action is needed to provide expanded services in Delaware’s fastestgrowing county while building a greener Delaware infrastructure through the purchase of zero-emission vehicles, which are more cost-effective to operate than diesel or gasoline-fueled buses. This change also supports Executive Order #41, Preparing Delaware for Emerging Climate Impacts and Seizing Economic Opportunities for Reducing Emissions.
Questions, comments or written material must be submitted by September 12, 2017 to: Rick Walters, Project Manager, Delaware Transit Corporation, 119 Lower Beech Street, Suite 100, Wilmington, DE, 19805, or contact DelDOT Community Relations at 1-800-652-5600 (in DE) or 302-760-2080, also via email firstname.lastname@example.org.
