The Delaware Department of Transportation will host a public workshop on the Route 26 Mainline project on Monday, May 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Roxanna Volunteer Fire Hall on Route 20 in Frankford.
The workshop will present project information and solicit public comments regarding the proposed improvements for Route 26 from Clarksville to the Assawoman Canal. The public is being invited to attend at any time between 4 and 7 p.m. on Monday.
According to DelDOT representatives, the department is currently evaluating the addition of a shared center left-turn lane between intersections throughout the project limits, in response to increased traffic volumes and accidents, and in response to public comment. The May 9 workshop will show the results of that evaluation. Members of the project team and DelDOT will be available to answer questions at the workshop.
Comments will be received during the workshop or can be mailed to DelDOT’s Office of Public Relations, P.O. Box 778, Dover, DE 19903. Further information can be obtained through the above office at (800) 652-5600 or by writing. The SR26 Mainline Improvements Web site is located at www.deldot.net/static/projects/sr26/index.html.
