Louis F. “Dickie” Lynch, 82, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md.
He had been the former owner and operator of The Patty Lyn Restaurant in Bethany Beach for 13 years and a carpenter for many years. He was a 38-year member of the American Legion in Dagsboro, a former member of the Roxana Fire Company, a member of the Arby’s Morning Coffee group and an avid hunter, fisherman, NASCAR and sports fan. He served during World War II in the Army and was a prisoner-of-war for a year.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary V. Lynch; sister Odetta Hickman and her husband Reese; brother-in-law, Bobby Williamson; sister-in-law, Jean Williamson; special buddy “Mitchell,” his dog; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Lynch Hudson in 2005.
Funeral services were scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Roxana Cemetery, Roxana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 600 DuPont Highway, Georgetown, DE 19947.
