Ashley Nicole Thompson, 19, of Georgetown, died Thursday Nov. 23, 2006 as a result of injuries she sustained when hit by an automobile while walking with her cousin on Thanksgiving Day.
Thompson was born in Milford, the daughter of Steven Ray Allison and Mary Jane (Thompson) Campbell.
She was a very outgoing young woman, who loved to make people laugh and would always offer a shoulder to lean on for anyone who needed one. She loved to talk on the telephone and listen to music or just “chill” with her family and friends. One of her biggest joys was babysitting for her baby brother and her cousins.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Jane Campbell; two brothers, Payton Campbell and Michael Gibbs Jr.; aunt, Wanda Thompson; two uncles, Harry Thompson and Theodore F. Thompson; her maternal grandmother, Mary Ann Thompson; and numerous cousins. Ashley was preceded in death by her grandfather, Theodore E. Thompson and her aunt, Julia A. Turner.
Funeral services were scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 30, at noon at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services on Long Neck Road in Millsboro, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Interment will be in Dagsboro Redmens Memorial Cemetery.
