Martin Royston Pettit, 71, of Millsboro, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at home.
He was born in New Church, Va., son of the late, Martin and Mildred (Covington) Pettit. He was a auditor for Farmers Bank of the State of Delaware, retiring in 1982, and then for Omni Bank for 10 years. Martin served with the U.S. Army Security Agency from 1957 to 1960.
He was a member of Conley’s United Methodist Church near Angola; Gideon’s International; Wildlife Federation; Nature Conservancy; and a life member of the Delaware Agriculture Museum.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Shirley (Messick) Pettit; a brother, Edward C. Pettit; sister, Elizabeth F. Hearn.
Funeral services were scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services on Long Neck Road in Millsboro. Interment will be in Conley’s Chapel Cemetery near Angola.
