Matthew Lee Cannon, 35, of Millsboro, passed away suddenly on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, at his home. Cannon was a self-employed exterior siding contractor.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ches and Maggie Hudson; paternal grandparents, Irving and Alice Cannon Sr.; and his brother, Timothy Cannon. Cannon is survived by his mother, Joyce Longfellow and step-father, Joseph Longfellow Sr. of Georgetown; his father, Irving Cannon Jr. and his step-mother Mary Cannon; companion and fiancée of 14 years, Donna Elliott; and a daughter, Katelyn Cannon. He is also survived by Donna Elliott’s children, Lacey and Adam Elliott, of Laurel; two brothers, Irving Cannon II and his wife Vera, of Maryland; and Mark Cannon and his fiancée Tammy Lathbury, of Maryland; a sister, Donna Powell and her husband Christopher, of Millsboro; three step-brothers, John Longfellow, of Milford; Joseph Longfellow Jr., of Gumboro; and Jack Longfellow, of Long Neck; a step-sister, Tina Longfellow, of Connecticut; five nieces; three great-nieces; 11 nephews and two great-nephews.
A funeral service was scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, with interment in Roxana Cemetery.
