William F. German Sr., 68, of Millsboro, formerly of Indian Mills and Monroeville, N.J., passed away at his home on Thursday, May 24, 2007. He was a retired foundry superintendent with Sorenson Industries in Darby, Pa., and served with the National Guard. He was a member of the Delaware Manufacturing Homes Association and enjoyed fishing with his dog Muffin and crabbing.
German was preceded in death by his parents, Elwell and Mary (Maier) German; and his sister, Mary Ann Branda. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Barbara (Funk) German; two sons, William German Jr. and his wife, Kathy, Robert German and his wife, Melissa; two daughters, Candie Abrams and her husband, Everett, Dawn Matera and her husband, Gary, all of New Jersey; a brother, Elwell German Jr. of Pa.; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service was scheduled for May 27, 2007. Burial was private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 163, Salisbury MD 21805.
