Dale Milton Workman, 91, of Georgetown, passed away Friday, June 1, 2007, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. He was a farmer in earlier years, and then became the owner and operator of Workman’s Store. He was a lifetime member and deacon of the Mt. Olivet Brethren Church in Georgetown. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and served as Grand Noble in 1949, 1966 and 1967. He served briefly on the Millsboro School Board as chairman.
Workman was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Washington and Catherine Evah Baker Workman; sisters, Pauline A. Wilson and Sally McCabe; and brothers, Edwin C. and Charles S. Workman. He is survived by his wife Verna M. Workman; children, Rosalie Brewington and Joyce Harrell of Georgetown, Janice LaPrad and husband John of Georgetown, Karen Mumford and husband Stephen of Millsboro; sister, Madeline Davis of Georgetown; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services were scheduled for Tuesday, June 5, 2007, with interment in Millsboro Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Olivet Brethren Church, 28096 Shortly Rd., Georgetown DE 19947.
