Reader offers option to save turtles
Editor:

Regarding the recent column about turtles: Has an idea ever been put forward to make “sand dune” piles in the marsh on Bayside? This might alleviate the turtle march across the highway of death. If that is not an option, how about a flashing sign warning drivers?

Church thankful for help from community
Editor:

On behalf of Mariner’s Bethel UMC and the Children’s Community Outreach Program, I would like to thank all the area businesses and friends of Mariner’s who contributed gifts, donations, games and products to make our free Family Fun Fest Day 2007 a complete success.

It was a great day, hearing the laughter and seeing the smiles of kids and families enjoying an afternoon of fun and fellowship. God smiled on us with just a brief shower while neighboring areas experienced a deluge.

Kudos to the following contributors: Rupert Smith, Ace Hardware Millsboro, Grand Rental Station Rehoboth, D.B. Fries, Captain Jack’s Mini Golf, Al Casapulla’s, Delaware Today, Precision Sportswear, Papa John’s, Bethany Beach Books, Mickey D’s Gift Cards (donated by friends), McCarthy Stones, Penguin Diner, Millville Pet Shop, Mystic Warriors CD, Patti’s Hallmark, Fractured Prune, Five Guys, Miller’s Creek, Fish Tales, Hocker’s/G&E, B-101.7 radio, Seyfert’s Shop, Fisher’s Popcorn, Lord’s Landscaping & Nursery, Shop of the Four Sisters, Cakes by Maria, Giant, Delaware National Bank, Berry Good Treats, Food Lion and Rent Equip.
