Edward A. Paris, 79
Edward A. Paris, 79, of North Carolina, formerly of Millville, Del., passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Lake Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Indian Trail, N.C. He was a devoted husband and father, always offering a helping hand, whether as Little League coach, scout leader or stage hand for numerous dance recitals and plays. He was an accomplished musician and was skilled in various types of mechanical repair. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and retired as a mechanical inspector for the city of Baltimore. He also served as governor for the Essex Moose Lodge.
Paris was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Bertha Paris; his wife of 52 years, Clara Mae Paris; and his son, Michael Paris. He is survived by a daughter, Michelle Sigler of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Michael Paris Jr. of St. Petersburg, Fla., Christopher Paris of Baltimore, Md., Jesse and Veronica Sigler of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, Ramon Paris of Baltimore; a sister, Bernice Ellenberger of Millers, Md.; and many other beloved family members and friends.
The family said they would like to thank all of the nurses, caregivers, staff and friends at Lake Park and Sunrise of South Charlotte for all of their love and support.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, West Ave., Ocean View. Interment will follow in St. George’s Cemetery in Clarksville.
