William Emory Vickers, 75, of Frankford, Del., passed away after a long illness on Thursday, April 17, 2008, at the Atlantic Shores Rehabilitation Health Center, Millsboro, Del. He worked in delivery for the Pep-Up Oil Company for more than 29 years. He was an active member for many years of the Dagsboro Church of God, Dagsboro, Del., and he really enjoyed the fellowship within the church. He loved to play his guitar and sing in the church choir, and he loved his garden in the summertime.
Vickers was preceded in death by his parents, John William and Lena Mae Timmons Vickers; and his wife of 36 years, Ernestine Kirby Vickers. He is survived by his brother, Donaway “Dee” Vickers and his wife, Bessie Anne, of Frankford; one nephew, William Dee Vickers and his wife, Michelle, and their children, Miranda and David; one niece, Deanna Mae Price and her husband, Darrin, and their children, Ryan and Madison.
Funeral services were scheduled for Tuesday, April 22, 2008, with interment in Dagsboro Redmens Memorial Cemetery, Dagsboro, Del. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Dagsboro Church of God, 32224 DuPont Blvd., Dagsboro, DE 19939.
