An early-morning crash that claimed the life of a 44-year-old Millsboro man Friday, Sept. 5. Delaware state troopers and medical personnel responded to the single-car crash near Georgetown at 1:04 a.m. and discovered the driver, Premnauth Ramsingh, 44, of Millsboro, dead on the scene.
Investigators said the 2002 Pontiac Grand Am operated by Ramsingh was traveling south on on Shortly Road just south of Alms House Road near Georgetown, when, for no apparent reason, it exited the east edge of the road and struck a tree.
Ramsingh was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol use was unknown, police said, noting that investigators had learned that Ramsingh had suffered from some medical conditions and were exploring if that might have contributed to the crash. Ramsingh's body was turned over to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of his death. The crash remained under investigation on Friday.
