Long & Foster’s Bethany Beach office announced this week the launch of its annual toy drive to benefit the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves’ annual Toys For Tots program. Long & Foster is asking that donated toys be new and unwrapped. They may be dropped off seven days a week at Long & Foster’s Bethany Beach office, located at 33298 Coastal Highway, next to McDonald’s, prior to Dec. 15.
Once the toys are collected and presented to area Marines, they are distributed to local churches, social welfare agencies and to needy children throughout the region.
The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program began with a single campaign in 1947. This year, local campaigns will be conducted in 647 communities covering all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
Last year’s National Toys For Tots campaign distributed 16.7 million toys, benefiting 7.5 million needy children. Last year, Long & Foster collected thousands of new toys throughout its entire seven state service area.
