Robert E. Kelly, 89, of Bethany Beach, Del., formerly of Baltimore, Md., passed away Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, in the Berlin Nursing and Rehab Center, Berlin, Md. He had been a salesman for Anderson Oldsmobile in Baltimore for 18 years. A mason, he was a member of the Blue Lodge, King David #68 and Boumi Temple, both of Baltimore. He was also a member of the Chesapeake Consistory of the Scottish Rite and a member of Mariner’s Bethel United Methodist Church, Ocean View, Del.
Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, Robert J. and Naomi Elizabeth Shores Kelley. He is survived by a son, Robert J. Kelley III and his wife, Phyllis, of Millsboro, Del.; a daughter, Karen Lynne Sturm and her husband, Paul, of Pasadena, Md.; four grandchildren, Kent Kelley, Barbara Shiner, William Ciotola and Karen Smith; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at 12 noon at Hastings Funeral Home, 19 South Main St., Selbyville, Del., where friends and family may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Gardens of Faith Cemetery, Baltimore, Md. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the McDonogh School Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 380, Owings Mills, MD 21117-0380.
