J. Franklin “Frank” Barrett, 73, of Frankford, Del., peacefully entered into Heaven on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, in the Atlantic Shores Nursing Home, Millsboro, Del. He had worked as a special serviceman for the Washington Gas Company, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a life member of Bethany/Fenwick Chamber of Commerce, Masonic Lodge of Millville, Almas Temple Clowns and numerous community organizations. He was always there to help others, reaching out to children through his clown “Honey Bun” or just being Frank. The past two years, he was instrumental in sponsoring a carnival, a fun day for the children and families associated with Lower Delaware Autistic Foundation (LDAF).
Barrett is survived by his children, Patricia “Patti” Edwards, Teresa “Terri” Lawson and her husband, Kenny, and Kenneth “Kenny” Barrett; grandchildren, Callie Marie and Colin Lawson, Ashley Barrett and Logan Edwards.
Services were private.
Psalm 4:8 – “I will lie down and sleep in peace for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety”.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to LDAF/Frank Barrett Carnival Fund, 33815 Clay Rd., Suite F, Lewes, DE 19958; or Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
