Kathryn E. Coffin, 89, of Millsboro, Del., passed away Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, in the Renaissance Center, Millsboro. She had worked as a basket weaver for Houston White Co. and retail clerk for Food Rite and IGA. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Millsboro and the VFW Post 7422 Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to needlepoint, she loved flowers, working out in her yard, cooking for family gatherings, dogs and her cat, Kojak.
Coffin was preceded in death by her parents, James E. and Della M. Dickerson Daisey; her husband, Elwood B. Coffin; her son, Vincent Coffin; brothers, James L., Harry R., Carlton E., Leroy J., Robert E. and William L. Daisey; sisters, Mary E. Zimmerman, Doretta M. Kirby and Helen J. Donoway. She is survived by a sister, Hilda M. Timmons; and many nieces and nephews, including E. Louise Donaway of Lewes, Del., Mary Rogers of Georgetown, Del., Eleanor Messick of Bedford, Va., and Robert W. Donaway of Millsboro.
A funeral service was scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, with interment in Millsboro Cemetery. Flowers are welcomed or contributions may be made to the Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriot’s Way, Milford, DE 19963.
