Beatrice Bunting Megee, 88, of Bishopville, Md., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, in Harrison Senior Living, Georgetown, Del. She was a homemaker and had been involved with the family farm for many years. Over the years she had also worked at the former Selbyville Manufacturing Co., Selbyville Cleaners and the Bishopville Store. She was a member of the Wilson U.M. Church and had been a member of the Ocean City Bowling League and Travel League, as well as a member of the Bishopville Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for over 40 years.
Megee was preceded in death by her parents, Jobie and Delphia Gray Bunting; her husband, Vernon Megee; and two sons, Gene B. and Gerald L. Megee. She is survived by a son, Glenn “Maggie” Megee and his wife, Dianne, of Selbyville, Del.; two sisters, Thelma Clogg of Dagsboro, Del., and Patsey Dean of Fort Mill, S.C.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, with interment in Bishopville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Beatrice B. Megee Memorial Fund, c/o BB&T Bank, P.O. Box 310, Bishopville, MD 21813.
