Grace D. Long, 91, of Selbyville, Del., and Fenwick Island, Del., passed away Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, in the Genesis Elder Care Center, Seaford, Del. She attended Goldey Business College and worked as a secretary for John M. Clayton High School in Frankford, Del., Selbyville High School and Salem Methodist Church in Selbyville. She was past president of the Selbyville Women’s Club, an elected member of the Selbyville Town Council, a member of Salem Methodist Church and St. Matthews by the Sea Methodist Church, Fenwick Island.
Long was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bessie (McCabe) Daisey; her husband of 62 years, H. Therl Long; and her brother, Orville Daisey. She is survived by two daughters, Connie Parker and her husband, Charles, of Millsboro, Del., and Nancy Kushela and her husband, Rod, of Selbyville; a grandson, Keith Kushela of Mooresville, N.C.; a granddaughter, Karen McIlvaine and her husband, Thad, of Lewes, Del.; and a great-granddaughter, Miranda McIlvaine of Lewes.
A funeral service was scheduled for Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, with interment in Carey’s Cemetery, Frankford. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Matthew’s by the Sea Methodist Church, 1000 Coastal Hwy., Fenwick Island, DE 19944.
