Rada M. Lewis, 99, of Berlin, Md., passed away Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, in Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Berlin, Md. She had been a seamstress for the former Berlin Shirt Factory and was a poultry grower. She was a member of Whaleyville U.M. Church and the United Methodist Women.
Lewis was preceded in death by her parents, Levin T. and Louianna (Parker) Jones; her husband, Horace E. Lewis; eight sisters; and a brother. She is survived by her daughter, Joretta L. Holland of Berlin; four grandchildren, Janet Miller and her husband, Darrell, Deborah Wells and her husband, Lester, Robert W. Holland and his wife, Carol, and Sandra Ugol and her husband, Alan; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was set for 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at Hastings Funeral Home, 19 S. Main St., Selbyville, Del. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Dale Cemetery, Whaleyville, Md. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Whaleyville U.M. Church, c/o Elaine Rogers, 12332 Blueberry Rd., Whaleyville, MD 21872.
