Agnes K. Melson, 86, of Georgetown, Del., passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was a whole-hearted Christian woman who was deeply devoted to her family. She attended Millville Methodist Church, Millville, Del.
Melson was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Emma (Banks) West; her husband, Alvin E. Melson; a devoted grandson, Alton Terry Moore; and three sisters, Marcella Corby, Madeline Hickman and Mattie Vickers. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Kathryn Moore of Georgetown; a devoted granddaughter, Sherry Littleton and her husband, Wayne, of Frankford, Del.; a grandson, Jerry Moore, of Rehoboth, Del.; two great-grandchildren, Nicole Earhart of Frankford and Tommy Moore of Georgetown; a sister, Pauline Powell of Selbyville, Del.; very loyal and devoted neighbors, Delmar and Michelle Cathell of Georgetown; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service was scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, with burial in St. George’s Cemetery, Clarksville, Del. In lieu of flowers, to defray the funeral expenses, the family suggests memorial contributions to Melson Funeral Services, P.O. Box 100, Frankford, DE 19945.
