Carey D. Maddox, 53, of Millsboro, Del., passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md. He was a maintenance mechanic for Allen’s Poultry. He loved car shows, basketball and bowling; and owned a trophy-winning truck. His favorite saying was, “You ain’t got to go home, but you got to get outta here.”
Maddox was preceded in death by his parents, Forewell and Ruth King Maddox; his wife, Shirley Maddox; and a brother, Forewell Chuck Maddox Jr. He is survived by his children, John Edward Belfield Sr. of Millsboro, Vickie Belfield of Portland, Tenn., Kristen Brown and Christine Maddox, both of Crisfield, Md.; brothers, Donald Maddox and his wife, Terri, of Salisbury, Md., and Darnell Maddox and his wife, Antoinette, of Marion, Md.; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of friends, relatives and special nephew, Donald.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at noon at St. Johns 2nd Baptist Church, Mt. Joy, near Millsboro, where friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
