Phyllis Louise (Williams) Daly, 66, of Reisterstown, Md., formerly of Newark, Del, died Jan. 15, 2009 at Gilchrist Hospice. Born April 28, 1942, in Delaware, she was the daughter of Evelyn L. Taylor Williams of Newark, Del., and the late Stephen Williams. She was a graduate of Newark High School in 1960 and the University of Delaware in 1965. Daly was a retired materials manager and had been involved in local politics, Reisterstown-Owings Mills-Glyndon Coordinating Council and Chartley Homeowner’s Association.
Beloved wife of Alexander M. Daly III; devoted mother of M. Kim Daly and her partner Suzanne Long and children, and Denée Daly and her husband Glen Wills; adored “Grammy” of William “Zan” Wills; dear sister of Stephen D. Williams and wife Holly Williams and family. She is also survived by many beloved family and friends.
Daly was a longtime homeowner in Fenwick Island and had vacationed each August on Cannon Street in Fenwick Island since the early 1950’s with family and friends. She was active in Fenwick Island town issues and a member of the Fenwick Island Yacht Club.
Memorial services were held at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. Following the service, a celebration of Life was held at All-Saints Episcopal Church, Reisterstown, Md. Interment was private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Daly’s name to the Phyllis L. Daly Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Chartley Homeowner’s Assn., P.O.
