Dorothy A. Gill, 75, of Selbyville, Del., formerly of Deptford, N.J., passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, in the Lankenau Hospital, Wynnewood, Pa. She was employed with Sears & Roebuck in their accounting department for 15 years before working for the Deptford Township Municipal Building Department and Tax Office for six years. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to casinos. She attended St. Matthews By-The-Sea United Methodist Church in Fenwick Island, Del. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Gill was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Marion (Stratton) Baull; and two brothers, Jack Baull and Linwood Scholles. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Daniel J. Gill Jr.; three children, Dorothy L. Darley of Lewes, Del., Daniel J. Gill III and his wife, Regina, of Deptford, N.J., and Daune Mumford and her husband, John, of Selbvyille; six grandchildren, Giuseppe Belfiore and companion, Billie Jo, Daniel Gill IV, Jonathan Hager, Drew Gill, Michael Stone and Jacob Darley; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Nevaeh Belfiore; a brother, Guy L. Baull and his wife, Linda, of Roxana, Del.; and a sister, Ella May Cropper and her husband, Daniel, of Seaford, Del.
A funeral service was scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, with burial in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, Del. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Matthews By-The-Sea United Methodist Church, 1000 Coastal Hwy., Fenwick Island, DE 19944.
