... Coastal flood advisory in effect from 10 p.m. this evening to 6 a.m. EDT Thursday...
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, N.J. has issued a coastal flood advisory... which is in effect from 10 p.m. this evening to 6 a.m. EDT Thursday.
Low pressure is continuing an onshore flow, with winds gusting to gale force. This has increased the tide levels in the back bays of southern New Jersey and Delaware.
The high tide this afternoon spilled onto some streets, and with little change in the overall pattern the next high tide, between 1 and 2:30 a.m. Thursday, will produce similar tide heights or a little higher.
This is not a widespread event, however, anyone who generally experiences minor flooding in the more vulnerable locations may want to move their vehicle to higher ground before retiring tonight.
A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
... Minor tidal flooding is possible in the back bays tonight...
