Frank Dukes Bunting, 91,of Dagsboro, Del., passed away Thursday, April 30, 2009, in the Atlantic Shores Nursing Home, Millsboro, Del. He was one of twelve children. He was a retired maintenance man for the Indian River High School and loved to talk about the school. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and had been a member of the Doric Masonic Lodge since 1940. He loved being with his family and taking walks around the town. Before his illness he tried to walk every day.
Bunting was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Bernice (Dukes) Bunting; and his wife, Evelyn Long Bunting. He is survived by his son, Frank D. Bunting II; daughter, Laura Mitchell; two grandchildren, Frank III and Holly; three great-grandchildren, Frank IV, Justin and Logan.
A funeral service was scheduled for Monday, May 4, 2009, with interment in Dagsboro Redmens Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in his memory to the Dagsboro Vol. Fire Co., PO Box 100, Dagsboro, DE 19939.
