Edith H. Ross-Cochran, 84, of Millsboro, Del., passed away Saturday, May 9, 2009, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, Del. She retired after 25 years of service as a pediatric nurse for Dr. Bertram Grossman Pediatric Associates, Norwalk, Conn.
Before retiring to Millsboro, she lived on a yacht for 22 years. She had a sparkling personality, loved colorful stories, music, bongo drums, dressing up, laughing and having fun. She had been an avid golfer and had been a member of a bell choir. After moving to Delaware, she sang in the choir at the Long Neck U.M. Church. In her younger years, she was a pilot, which is where she met her husband.
Ross-Cochran was preceded in death by her parents, Laurence S. and Mary Hinton Ross; and her husband, Ralf W. Cochran. She is survived by her children, Gail Cochran DeFrancesco, of Norwalk, and Randie Cochran Meyer, of Amherst, N.H.; her grandchildren, Amy Sue Eichberger and Nikolaus Ralf Meyer; and two great-grandchildren, Raeanne Eichberger and Aelah Meyer.
