Mary Louise O’Brien, 78, of Ocean City, Md., passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md., surrounded by family.
After retiring from Sea Colony West as head of the maintenance department, she enjoyed playing cards, people-watching on the boardwalk, spending time with family and friends and her cat, and taking care of her plants.
O’Brien was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Elisha Magaw; sisters, Ruth Magaw Hanby and Violet Magaw Spicher; and nephew James Johnson.
She is survived by her sons, Michael O’Brien of Ohio, Kevin O’Brien of Georgia; daughter, Melissa Hendrix of Florida; grandsons, Sean O’Brien of Georgia; Ethan and Kate O’Brien of Georgia; Brennan, Benjamin, and Lauren Hendrix of Florida; nieces, Janet Johnson of West Ocean City; Judy Patton of Dover; and Carol Casey of Wilmington; Joseph Hanby of Pennsylvania; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service was held on Saturday, May 16, 2009.
