Marshall Donoway Lewis, 76, a lifelong resident of Millsboro, Del., passed away Monday, June 1, 2009, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md. He was a retired grain and poultry farmer and was a member of the Bridgeville Gun and Pistol Club, as well as St. Anne’s bowling league. An avid golfer and member of the Rookery, Milton, Del., some of his accomplishments included the Sussex Pines Golf Championship in 1970, Golfer of the Year, 1st Place Varmint Class, Bridgeville Rifle & Pistol Club; he also bowled 11 strikes and scored 298 once in 2007.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Rollie Norman and Olive Donoway Lewis; and a brother, Clifford Lewis. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eleanor E. Lewis; a sister, Deborah Digregorio, of Millsboro; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
A funeral service was scheduled for Thursday, June 4, 2009, with interment in Millsboro Cemetery.
