The Sussex County Association of Realtors (SCAOR) held its annual award luncheon on Tuesday, June 9, at the new SCAOR complex on Route 9 in Georgetown. The event highlights member contributions to the association and the profession of real estate, as well as volunteerism in the community.
Four special awards were presented, including Realtor of the Year, President’s Award, Good Neighbor Award and Realtor Emeritus.
Bill Lucks, managing broker for Sperry Van Ness-Miller Commercial of Rehoboth, received the Realtor of the Year Award for Sussex County. He has been an active member of SCAOR Board of Directors and currently serves as past president. Additionally, he has held several leadership roles with the Delaware Association of Realtors (DAR) and currently leads the Public Policy Committee and is first vice president of DAR.
Also on June 9, SCAOR President Steve Alexander presented Susan Mills from Jack Lingo Inc. Realty the President’s Award in recognition of her commitment and service to the Realtor Service Program (RCS). He said she was instrumental in providing for the needy in Sussex County by coordinating Realtor efforts to raise money and oversee a program that has filled a void in Sussex.
Kathy Goodman of Remax by the Sea in Fenwick received the Good Neighbor award for her countless hours of Community Service to Habitat for Humanity. Shirley Price of Long and Foster in Bethany also received a Good Neighbor award for her work with CHEER Inc. Both Good Neighbors were presented with checks for their charities.
George Farnell of Callaway, Farnell and Moore of Seaford was surprised with special honors for more than 40 years of continual membership with the Sussex County Association of Realtors and received the National Association of Realtors’ Realtor Emeritus Presentation.
Sussex Realtors were on hand to recognize the award recipients and celebrate the 60th anniversary of the association.
