...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING...
...COASTAL FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY HAS ISSUED A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING. A COASTAL FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING.

A STRENGTHENING EAST TO NORTHEAST FLOW WILL RESULT IN AREAS OF MINOR TIDAL FLOODING ALONG THE DELAWARE COAST...CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF THE NEW JERSEY COAST...ADJACENT BACK BAYS AND DELAWARE BAY THIS EVENING. RAINFALL AROUND THE TIME OF HIGH TIDE MAY EXACERBATE FLOODING.

HIGH TIDE OCCURS ALONG THE ATLANTIC COAST BETWEEN 530 PM AND 645 PM EDT. HIGH TIDE OCCURS UP TO A FEW HOURS LATER ON THE BACK BAYS AND ALONG DELAWARE BAY.

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE IN A LOCATION THAT IS PRONE TO TIDAL FLOODING...AND DO NOT TRY TO DRIVE ACROSS ANY FLOODED ROADWAYS THAT YOU MAY ENCOUNTER.

FOR THE SUBSEQUENT HIGH TIDES ON FRIDAY...MODERATE TIDAL FLOODING IS POSSIBLE. ALONG THE ATLANTIC OCEANFRONT THE FRIDAY MORNING HIGH TIDE OCCURS BETWEEN 615 AM AND 715 AM EDT...AND THE FRIDAY EVENING HIGH TIDE OCCURS BETWEEN 630 PM AND 730 PM EDT. AGAIN...HIGH TIDE ALONG ADJACENT BACK BAYS AND DELAWARE BAY OCCURS UP TO A FEW HOURS LATER.

FOR THE FRIDAY HIGH TIDES...POSSIBLE TIDE HEIGHTS ARE 7.5 TO 8.0 FEET MLLW AT SEASIDE HEIGHTS AND ATLANTIC CITY...AROUND 8.0 FEET MLLW AT CAPE MAY...BETWEEN 7.0 AND 7.5 FEET MLLW AT REHOBOTH BEACH AND BREAKWATER HARBOR...AND BETWEEN 8.0 AND 8.5 FEET MLLW AT REEDY POINT.

ANY RAINFALL OCCURRING DURING THE TIMES OF HIGH TIDE WOULD EXACERBATE TIDAL FLOODING...AND WAVE ACTION MAY LEAD TO MODERATE BEACH EROSION.

THE MAJOR CONCERN IS THAT THE TRACK OF THE TWO SYSTEMS THAT WILL AFFECT US INTO THE WEEKEND MAY MAINTAIN AN EAST TO NORTHEAST WIND AND NOT ALLOW TIDAL WATERS TO DRAIN UNTIL EARLY ON MONDAY. BY THAT TIME...SEVEN HIGH TIDE CYCLES WILL HAVE OCCURRED.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A COASTAL FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS FAVORABLE FOR
FLOODING ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP. COASTAL RESIDENTS SHOULD BE ALERT FOR LATER STATEMENTS OR WARNINGS...AND TAKE ACTION TO PROTECT PROPERTY.

A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY INDICATES THAT ONSHORE WINDS AND TIDES WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE FLOODING OF LOW AREAS ALONG THE SHORE.
