C. Ronald Bilowith, 71, of Ocean View, Del., passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Ronald served as a chemical night engineer for Hoffmann-LaRoche Pharmaceutical Company in Clifton, N.J. with 30 years of service before retiring in 1994. He also served as an EMT and Industrial Fireman. Heh was a charter member of the East Sussex Moose Lodge 2542 in Roxana, Del., a social member of the Mason Dixon VFW Post 7234 at Quillen’s Point in Ocean View where he would cook at the VFW chicken shack every Saturday during the summer, and a member of the American Legion Post 24 in Dagsboro, Del. He was an avid reader amateur gourmet cook, and loved sports.
Bilowith is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elizabeth (Weiler) Bilowith.He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Ruth Ann M. (Petrella) Bilowith; three children, John Bilowith and his wife Susan of Milford, Mass., Kimberly Connelly and her husband Daniel of Skowhegan, ME; and Michael Bilowith and his wife Christine of Herndon, Va.; five grandchildren, Elizabeth and Nicholas Connelly, Jack, Grace and Sophia Bilowith; a brother James Bilowith and his wife Delores of Vermont and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 3-5 p.m. at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd., Ocean View, Del. where a Moose Lodge service will be held. A committal service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 11 a.m. at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, Del.
