Charles Melvin White, 80, of Selbyville, Del., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009 at Berlin Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Berlin, Md. Before retiring, he had been an appliance repairman for the Washington Gas and Light, Co. He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Ocean City, Md.
White is preceded in death by his parents, Edward M. and Ellen G.D. Matthews White; a son, Shawn P. White; a daughter, Carroll C. Tennant; his first wife, Shelia J. White; and step son, Stuart K. Ondusko. He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. White of Selbyville; three sons, Charles M. White Jr. of Annapolis, Md., Dennis T. White Sr. of Woodbridge, Va., and James K. White Sr. of Selbyville; a daughter, Shelia A. Kuhn of Thurmont, Md.; a step son, Mark W. Ondusko of Clearwater, Fla.; three step-daughters, Deborah M. King of Waldorf, Md., Brenda K. Lundholm of Cookeville, Tenn. and Lori J. Ondusko of Hollywood, Md.; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Monday, Nov. 23, 9:30 a.m., at Francis J. Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd. West, Silver Spring, Md. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Md. Friends may call on Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville. A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Francis J. Collins Funeral Home.
