Patricia Jane Savery, 76

Patricia Jane Savery, 76, of Frankford, Del., passed away Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at her home. She attended Georgetown Visitation and Stone Ridge Country Day School for high school. She was an art major at Catholic University. She was an artist throughout her life. She was proficient in all art mediums including oil, pastel, acrylic and pottery, but painting was her forte. Since moving to Bethany Beach, Del. she has spent many hours working with the St. Ann’s Bazaar painting group. She was a past president of Ladies Auxiliary at St. Patrick’s Church where she also served as a CCD teacher. An avid golfer, she was a former member of the Kennett Square Golf and Country Club Ladies golfing association.

Savery is survived by husband, William Edward Savery, Jr.; her five children, Suzanne Savery of Richmond, Va., William Savery, III and his wife Nancy of Newark, Del, Peter Savery and his wife Cynthia of Alexandria, Va., Timothy Savery and his wife Elizabeth of Newark, Del. and Sean Savery of Atlanta, Ga.; her five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren, Timothy and his wife Jaclyn Savery and their son Aydan of Wilmington, Del., Jessica Savery and her fiancé William Paris of Wilmington, Del., Michael Savery of Newark, Del., Michael Keith Higgins and his wife Heidi of Wilmington, N.C., Stefanie and her husband Beverley “Chip” Scott of Washington D.C. and their sons Wesley, Willem and Wyatt; her sister, Maureen Nee and her husband Nicholas Gill of Bridgeport, Conn. and her sister-in-law Hilda Savery and her husband Frank Skomorucha; many loved nieces and nephews in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Maine, Connecticut and Oklahoma.

A Mass of Christian Burial is set for Wednesday, December 9, 2009, 11 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, Del. where friends and family may call after 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be held privately at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Savery’s name to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
