Doris Mae Norwood, 68, of Millsboro, Del., passed away Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, Del. She was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant for various companies until she could no longer work in that capacity. She was an active member of the Sussex Central SDA Church serving as Community Service Leader, Deaconess and helping out wherever she was needed.
Norwood is preceded in death by her parents, Eldred and Edith Pritchett. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert Norwood; six children, Cynthia Taylor (Anthony), Ursula Norwood, of Millsboro, Del., Wanda Norwood, Georgetown, Del., Robert Norwood, Jr. (Julie) of Rehoboth, Del., Pamela Banks (George), Troy Norwood (Elizabeth) of Georgetown, Del.; five sisters, Elizabeth Powell, Dover, Del., Mary Doughty (Clyde) Hartly, Josephine Pritchett and Ethel Pritchett (Mervin), Millsboro Del., Lowan Pitt, Dover, Del.; three brothers, Daniel Pritchett (Shirley) Wilmington, Del., Eldred Pritchett (Renee) Baltimore, Maryland, Samuel Pritchett (Desiree), Linwood, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services are set for Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, 1 p.m. at Millsboro Seventh Day Adventist Church, Millsboro, Del. Friends may call on Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home 211 S. Washington Street Millsboro, Del. and again on Friday at the church from noon to 1 p.m. Pastor Colby Matlock will officiate, and burial will be in the Millsboro Seventh Day Adventist Church Cemetery. Flowers are welcome and contributions may be made to the Sussex Central Seventh Day Adventist Church 22514 Gravel Hill Road, Georgetown, Delaware 19947.
