BREAKING NEWS: Lewes pediatrician arrested on rape, sexual contact charges [UPDATED]

The Delaware State Police on Wednesday, Dec. 16, reported that DSP Troop 4 detectives were investigating Dr. Earl B. Bradley – a pediatrician with an office in Lewes, Del. – in reference to charges of unlawful sexual contact.

Police said Bradley has been the focus of a year-long investigation by detectives involving multiple victims and that the recent charges against Bradley stemmed from an incident that took place between late October and early December of this year, involving a 2-year-old female victim.

Charges were filed against Bradley late Tuesday night, police said, after the victim of the recent incident was interviewed by state officials. Troop 4 detectives placed Bradley in custody at his residence early Wednesday morning.

Police said detectives also conducted a search warrant at Bradley’s office on Coastal Highway in Lewes. Troop 4 detectives removed several computers and medical files from Bradley’s office while conducting the search warrant, they said.

Bradley was charged with Rape 2nd (a felony), Unlawful Sexual Contact 1st (a felony) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (a felony). Bradley was being interviewed at Troop 4 by detectives as of 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, and the investigation was ongoing, police emphasized.

Upon completion of the interview, police said, Bradley was to be arraigned and bail would be set.

Parents of children with questions or concerns are being asked to contact Troop 4 detectives at (302) 856-5850, ext. 216.

UPDATE: Delaware State Police emphasized on Thursday that, during Wednesday's search warrant at Bradley’s office located at 18259 Coastal Highway, Baybees Pediatrics, Troop 4 detectives only seized medical records of patients who are involved in the State Police investigation.

No other patient’s records were seized during the search warrant, they said.

Patients of Bradley who are not currently in communication with State Police detectives can still obtain their medical records by contacting Bradley’s office, and Troop 4 detectives are asking patents who wish to obtain their medical records from Bradley’s office to contact Baybees Pediatric.
