Richard E. Parsons, 77


Richard E. Parsons, 77, of Millsboro, Del. passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at the Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del. He was a condominium manager before his retirement.  He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.  Parsons liked NASCAR and was a fan of Mark Martin, loved gardening, loved to do woodworking and building things, and loved to laugh with his friends at McDonald’s where he was a part of the “Board of Directors.” 
Parsons is preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Mary Thomas Parsons; a son, Alan; a brother, Tommy; and a granddaughter. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Charlotte Littleton Parsons; three sons, Jeffrey Parsons and wife Karen of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; Randy Parsons and companion Billie Lynn of Milford, Del., and Joe Parsons of Millsboro; two daughters, Wanda Layton and husband Ronald of Seaford, Del. and Linda Milan and husband Junior of Georgetown, Del.; two brothers, Harlan Parsons of Oregon and Robert Parsons of Millsboro; one sister, Patricia Porter of Baytown, Tex.; 11 Grandchildren; and 17 Great Grandchildren.
Services are set for Saturday, Feb. 6 at 1 p.m. at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S Washington Street, Millsboro, Del. where friends may call at Noon. Rev. Robert A. Hudson will officiate. Interment with Military Honors will be at the Millsboro Cemetery following the service.
