Ralph Lawson, 89

Ralph Lawson, 89, of Dagsboro, Del. passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at home. He was a poultry and grain farmer for more than 30 years. He loved farming; he operated his own farm operation as well as worked at Townsend’s Inc., Millsboro at the hatchery, bean mill and other departments where he retired as a crew shift foreman after 35 years of service. He was a devoted husband and father and he loved helping his family; his wife and kids always came first. Lawson loved being outdoors and was an avid baseball fan.
Lawson is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel W. and Rosie Bryan Lawson; and by two sisters, Edna Pepper and Dorothy LeCates. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Ann Smith Lawson; two sons, Raymond Lee Lawson and his wife Billie of Dagsboro and Granville Ralph Lawson of Dagsboro; two daughters, Joyce Ann Stevens and husband Raymond of Laurel, Del. and Gloria Jean Sutler and husband Ron of Millsboro; a sister, Elsie Walls of Milford, Del.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; many friends; and extended family.
Services are set for Wed., February 17, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S Washington Street, Millsboro, Del.; Pastor Wayne Parsons will officiate the service. Friends and family may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be in Millsboro Cemetery.
