William “Bill” W. Miller Sr., 69
William “Bill” W. Miller Sr., 69, of Dagsboro, Del. passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at his home. After graduation from high school he served his country for four years serving in the United States Navy. He retired in 1993 after 23 years of service as a Baltimore City Police Officer. During his tenure as a police officer he was also employed for Dunbar Armored working as their firearms instructor. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and a life member of the NRA. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, boating, fishing, reading, and shooting.
Miller is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Katherine (Woods) Miller; and a sister, Patricia Wicker. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice A. (Gebhardt) Miller; a son William W. Miller, Jr. and his wife Karen of Manassas, Va.; and two grandchildren, Will and Camden Miller.
A visitation is set for Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd., Ocean View, DE 19970, where a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Interment will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday February 17, 2010 a t the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in William’s name to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
