Charles L. Wright, 72, of Fenwick Island, Del., passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del. He was raised in Washington, D.C. and was a loyal Redskin fan. He served his country in the Army National Guard and the U.S. Air Force. He was a 1965 graduate of Benjamin Franklin University and had a long career in Financial Management. He had been active in the Prince Georges County Democratic Party and served eight years on the Central Committee. In recent years he worked for the Delaware State Parks.
Wright was preceded in death by his parents, Charles L. Wright Sr. and Suzanne Reluga Wright. He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Mary (Fraser) Wright; a son, Matthew Charles Wright; two daughters, Tracy Wright and Kristan Wimbish and her husband Paul; three grandchildren, James Cavanaugh, Elizabeth Cavanaugh and Kyle Wimbish; two sisters, Barbara O’Neel and Linda Akowski; numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
Services are set for Wednesday, July 21, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's By-The-Sea Episcopal Church, 302 North Baltimore Ave., Ocean City, Md. with a reception to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Paul's-By-the-Sea.
