Nowland Bouchelle Ellison "Hopps", 91, of Bethany Beach, Del., passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010, at home in the loving arms of his daughter and wife. He worked for Conowingo Power, a division of Philadelphia Electric Co. and was a dedicated employee for over thirty-five years. He was a faithful member of the Elkton United Methodist Church, until moving to Bethany Beach, where he attended St. Martha's Episcopal Church. While always an avid bowler, in 1971, he had a lifelong dream come true, when he bowled a perfect game of "300".
Ellison was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton Larken and Daisy Bouchelle Ellison; his brothers, Clayton Augustus and Harry Griffith Ellison. He is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Betty R. Ellison; her extended family, Jane Morgan; grandchildren, Christine, John, Michael, and David;
his first wife of forty-four years, Evalyn G. Ellison; their daughter, Darcia Bachkosky and her husband David; and their son, Joshua.
Services are set for Saturday, Aug. 28, at 1 p.m., at St. Martha's Episcopal Church, Bethany Beach, DE 19930. In lieu of flowers, his family kindly suggests, giving the gift of life, by donating to the Blood Bank of Delaware, in Ellison's memory.
