Selbyville man arrested in home invasion case


Selbyville police this week arrested a local man in connection with a home invasion in that town. Police said they responded the scene on Friday, July 16, about 2:15 a.m., finding a shattered front window, and could see the home owner fighting with an unknown male suspect. The suspect was quickly taken into custody, without incident, police said.

The home owner, who police said had been awakened by the sound of breaking glass and confronted the subject in his living room, was not injured. The suspect did suffered minor lacerations, they said.

Michael J. Perkins, 37, of Selbyville, admitted to being under the influence of narcotics, police reported, and was subsequently arrested on charges of Burglary, Offensive Touching, Menacing, Disorderly Conduct and multiple counts of Criminal Mischief.
