Sheila Kathleen Davis, 71, of Millsboro, formerly of Newark, Del., passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010. Davis was a dedicated educator and taught in the Wilmington, Newark, and Christiana high schools. Upon retirement, she moved back to Millsboro and cared for her Uncle Hershel and continued to care for his wife, Myrtle, until she was unable to do so. She was an avid traveler, advice-giver and shopper, and enjoyed helping others. She could always be seen in the kitchen at Harmony United Methodist Church, making dumplings. She was a member of Harmony Church, Nanticoke Indian Association and a tribal council member, and Delaware State alumnus.
Davis is survived by Darlene “Chippy” Brandner, Diana Johnson and Jodie Brown, and her two godchildren, Sheila Jackson and Jessie Pritchett. In addition, she is survived by her beloved dog, Biscuit, Uncle John Clark and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, with interment in Harmony Cemetery.
