Anna Mae Brittingham, 85, of Georgetown, Del., passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010.She was a co-owner and the bookkeeper for Brittingham Associates and Sussex Suites LLC. Brittingham was known for her beautiful crocheting, afghans and other handiwork. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her son and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Asher B. Carey Sr. and Valeria Mae Evans Carey, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ira B. Brittingham Sr., and brothers, Asher Jr. and Jim Carey. She is survived by one son, Ira B. Brittingham Jr., and two grandchildren, Matthew Brittingham and Shawn Brittingham; four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary, Olivia and Anthony. She is also survived by many friends and extended family across the region.
A funeral service was scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St.; Millsboro, Del., where friends may call one hour prior. Friends may also call on Friday, Nov. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will follow at Roxana Cemetery in Roxana, Del. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Delaware Hospice; 100 Patriot’s Way; Milford, DE 19963, or to a charity of the giver’s choice.
