William T. Brown, 79, of Gumboro, Del., passed away Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Md.
Brown served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He retired as an electrical engineer with the DuPont Nylon Plant in Seaford, Del., after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Joshua House Church in Gumboro, Del.
Brown was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi, and a son, T.L. Brown. He is survived by three children, Linda Shirley, Ruth Collins and Chuck Reynolds; a sister, Evelyn B. Flournoy; eight grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; and his best friend, Byard Layton and his wife, Phyllis.
A funeral service was scheduled for Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services on Thatcher Street in Frankford, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Interment with military honors will be held on Monday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m. at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, Del.
